We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for a Group specialises in high-end metal AM components for demanding industries like Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, Racing and Industrial engineering.

Knowledge, skills, qualifications & experience

• 5-year master's degree Course in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of post-graduate professional experience in the role of Engineering and / or R&D
• Relevant 3D Printing DMLS or SLS experience essential.
• Experience of DfAM good practice
• Preference will be given to candidates with a strong technical background in the field of Additive Manufacturing and / or engineering applied to the Aerospace standards (AS9100, AMS, NADCAP).
• Understanding of the analytical methods used for the characterization of metal powders and AM plants
• Ability to analyze performance, reading and interpretation of indicators.
• Ability and willingness to promptly intervene on problems.
• Relevant experience in DOE and statistical analysis of processes (SPC)
• Preferably knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (six sigma, DMAIC, VSM,) and problem solving (8D, Ishikawa etc.)
• Excellent workload management skills
• Communication skills and team motivation
• Competence in the use of MS-Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook), Minitab, CAD / CAM software
• Excellent knowledge of the English language
• PMP qualification it's preferable


Purpose

He/She will be able to successfully support new product introductions and new manufacturing technologies at all company sites and consolidate the production of existing components. He/She will contribute to the parameter development for special processes.


Key Accountabilities & Deliverables

• Define manufacturing and assembly times and methods
• Definition of material and equipment requirements
• Issue of production manufacturing cycles, control plans keeping the configuration control
• Create the technical specifications and / or technical operating instructions procedures in accordance with Aerospace International Standards.
• DOE for parameters development on Special Processes like Additive Manufacturing & Heat Treatments.
• Verification and management of manufacturing cycles analyses all the information reported on the cycles and verifies the technical feasibility, the sequence of phases, resources, and times.
• Definition of Manufacturing Standard Times verifies the processing times achieved, defining the standard values according to the work analysis criteria, and possibly updating the data entered in the management information system (BMS).
• Performs the data analysis of the machine and recurrent issue to identify the cause of the problem and set the improvement solutions.
• Process mapping, verification of criticalities and identification of improvements.
• Economic evaluations of the inefficiency and defines the expected recovery plan as a consequence of the improvement activities.
• Product configuration management by maintaining traceability in the prepared registers
• It is part of the MRB for the technical disposition of non-conformities in accordance with the requirements shared by the Customer and internal procedure
• Issues purchase requests on activities that require outsourcing and according to the method established by the work cycle
• Collaborate with the planning function to establish machine job start and any critical issues
• Use CAD software (eg CATIA V5, Siemens NX, Magics etc.) for the creation of machine programs and 3D modelling of components optimized for printing
• Draws up the cost analysis in the phase of estimates and offers for the realization of the product or service to be sent to the reference Sales function and back office for the final quotation to the Customer
